On Wednesday night, a devastating basement fire broke out in a semi-detached house on Halterner Strasse in Pasewalk. The alarm bells rang shortly before midnight and the volunteer fire departments from Pasewalk, Jatznick, Blumenhagen, Belling and Rollwitz quickly arrived at the scene with over 50 emergency services and 13 vehicles. The affected residents, a 65-year-old woman and her 69-year-old partner, were very lucky in the misfortune: they were able to escape outside in time and were uninjured. The other half of the semi-detached house was also affected. Four neighbors between the ages of 11 and 48 also had to flee for a time, but were able to return after the fire was put out. However, the affected half of the house is temporarily uninhabitable due to heavy soot, which forces the residents to seek shelter with friends, reports n-tv.
