Bebersee Festival: Top music in the hangar delights countless visitors!

The Bebersee Festival, which takes place in a former MiG hangar of the Soviet armed forces in Groß Dölln, continues to be very popular and attracts music-loving visitors from all over the region. From August 27th to 31st, 2025, the festival will illuminate the Schorfheide with top-class performances. The 26th edition once again focuses on the fascination of chamber music and offers intimate musical experiences in the midst of nature. Jürgen Bischof, managing director of the Uckermärkische Kulturagentur, emphasizes the quality of the concerts, which once again enchanted a wide audience this year.

With a varied five-evening program, the festival showcases outstanding artists, including the Javus Quartet from Salzburg, which was awarded the Jürgen Ponto Foundation Music Prize and is nominated for the ECHO Rising Stars 2026/27. The Orbis Quartet, known as “the singing string quartet,” also impressed. The visitors could not only look forward to a diverse selection of music, but also to the outstanding performances of musical talents such as Vineta Sareika, primaria of the Artemis Quartet and former first concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic.

Top-class performances and new talent

Pianist Markus Groh, who founded the festival, performed again after a year-long break. He presented the talented Australian pianist Caitlan Rinaldy, who performed the work “Air russe varié” by Louise Farrenc. Other top-class musicians such as Ivan Karizna, a celebrated cellist of the young generation, and the sisters Jona and Marei Schibilsky, who have received many awards for their achievements, were also part of the program.

Visitors particularly appreciated the cultural diversity of the festival. Dorina Schaknat and the couple Andrea and Olf Kindler were among the many who found the music performed to be a valuable enrichment. The sisters Jona and Marei Schibilsky were also particularly highlighted for their achievements, with Jona being concertmaster at the Royal Opera House in Madrid from September 1st.

An emotional finale

An emotional highlight of the festival was the final concert, at which Tchaikovsky's piano trio “In Memory of a Great Artist” was performed. This concert honored the late violist Friedemann Weigle, whose tenth anniversary of death was celebrated this year. This homage brought together not only the music, but also the personal stories and memories of the artists and listeners.

The Bebersee Festival has once again established itself as a very special musical event that touches the hearts of music lovers and creates an intimate atmosphere. For anyone looking for high-quality musical experiences, events like these remain an absolute must. The focus on chamber music and the outstanding talents on stage offer a unique experience that extends far beyond the borders of Uckermark and Brandenburg.

For more information and future events, it's worth taking a look at the festival's official website at Bebersee Festival or on VivaMusica, which provides a platform for finding chamber music musicians.
