Drenkow: New sidewalk almost finished – playground project in the pipeline!

Something is happening in Drenkow! The new sidewalk that adorns the Old Village Street from the U-curve in the center of the village to the Friedhofsweg is almost finished. The construction work, which began in April, is now nearing completion. With a total length of around 450 meters, the modern sidewalk not only offers more safety, but also significantly enhances the village's appearance. Overall, the construction costs amounted to around 150,000 euros Northern Courier reported.

Another pleasing aspect of the renovation work is the relocation of the containers for used glass and clothing. These have been moved to a new location at the junction of the Alte Dorfstrasse and remain centrally located in the center of the village, which ensures improved accessibility.

A new playground in the center of town is being planned and preparations are already in full swing. The district's grant of 9,000 euros has already been approved, so implementation can begin soon. The playground area has already been cleared and is surrounded by the thoroughfare in a horseshoe shape. Safety is the top priority, and so the playground is fenced off from the street so that the children can play freely.
