Cölpin plans millions of renovation for the Hummelest daycare center!

The municipality of Cölpin faces an important challenge: the renovation of the Hummelest day care center is to be carried out on its own. This decision was made in the municipal council on Thursday evening. The estimated costs of around two million euros are presenting the municipality before financial hurdles, but social director Michael Löffler gives the all -clear: the renovation speaks nothing against a possible reopening of the daycare center, which must be concluded at the end of the year due to considerable defects in fire protection.

The daycare center nest, which was built in 1983, currently looks after 76 children. Mayor Joachim Jünger expressed his dissatisfaction with the lack of funding from the federal, state and district, which could be provided for the renovation of daycare centers. It remains to be seen whether the municipality can implement its plans through its own funds or potential subsidies from federal programs. After all, there are various funding opportunities in the area of the development of daycare centers and schools that can currently be used.

funding for energy efficiency

Another example that underlines the importance of funding is the grant of 91,068.58 euros, which was granted to the AWO Regionalverband Demmin e.V. in Stavenhagen for the renovation of the Kita Sonnenkäfer in Malchin. The measures to improve energy efficiency include the installation of triple glazed windows, additional insulation on the roof and a thermal insulation composite system. These investments should not only lead to energy saving, but also to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.

The aim of these funding, which comes from the "European Fund for Regional Development" (ERDR), is the implementation of active climate protection measures in daycare centers. This is in accordance with the climate protection action plan and should serve the energy saving of up to 67,276 kWh per year, which means CO2 savings of 16.554 tons per year.

climate protection in daycare centers and schools

In view of the current circumstances,

shows that climate protection in daycare centers and schools is more than just saving energy. The Federal Ministry of Environment supports these institutions in creating sustainable learning environments. According to the national climate protection initiative (NKI), the agencies of daycare centers are encouraged to integrate climate protection measures even in the event of renovations.

There are many funding opportunities through the Corona Business Administration Package, which, among other things, increases the funding rates and reduces the shares. Measures such as the modernization of lighting, energetic renovation of ventilation systems or the exchange of old electrical devices through energy -efficient models are part of this initiative.

Thanks to these various funding programs, municipalities such as Cölpin will be able to strive for future -oriented and sustainable concepts in early childhood education. It remains exciting to observe how Cölpin will master the upcoming challenges and whether the initiatives for the renovation of the Hummenest day care center can be supported by appropriate funding.
