participation options in focus
Especially in the current context, where dissatisfaction with public decisions and increasing disenchantment with politics is observed, the importance of citizen participations is emphasized. According to the DiW , many citizens are involved in their everyday life and would like a stronger participation. But there is often a lack of knowledge about the structure and the effects of citizens' initiatives, which can inhibit commitment.
The event promises interesting insights. Jana Wolff from the Klima Allianz Schwerin will report on a successful citizens' request for free local transport, while Thomas Radke from the Initiative Zukunftskellen MV shares his experience from Malchin. Robert Gardlowski, community leader, will present the various participation options on site. The participants can also look forward to a presentation of the new digital citizens' information system, which is intended as an important resource for citizen participation.
history of citizen participation
If you look into the history of participation, you will find many historical milestones that have led to the development of forms of participation. A foundation for more political participation was laid in the 19th century, which also significantly strengthened the rights of the citizens ( BPB ). Today, the citizens' request and decisions are fixed components of the political landscape in many municipalities and give the citizens a strong voice.
In addition, civic engagement and honorary offices are indispensable for a lively community. Nevertheless, these engagements have been declining since the 1990s, while an increasing interest in political participation is still noticeable. The challenges and opportunities of active citizens' participation are more current than ever.
So visit the event in Feldberg on July 5, get involved and learn how to actively help shape! Drinks and snacks are ready, so come over - there is a lot to discover and discuss!
