Discover the castle church: guided tours and exciting exhibitions!
Something exciting is happening in Neustrelitz! A special combined tour of the fascinating castle church will take place on July 31st at 4 p.m. The meeting point is directly in front of the church, which is considered one of the most important architectural monuments of the former Duchy of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. With a ticket price of 8 euros for adults and just 2 euros for children aged 6 to 17 - entry is even free for the little ones under 6 - this is a real opportunity to immerse yourself in the history and culture of the region. Northern Courier reports that the tour will be led by Patryk Tomala, an experienced guide from the Neustrelitz Cultural Quarter. Tomala himself will guide participants through the exciting history, impressive architecture and fascinating furnishings of the church.
The castle church, which was built between 1855 and 1859 in the immediate vicinity of the castle ensemble, is not only an architectural jewel, but has also established itself as an important cultural location that is used for exhibitions, concerts and readings. Visitors can experience the interior of the church, which is characterized by elegant architecture and decorative galleries - a real highlight for anyone interested in the region. Particular attention is paid to the impressive leaded glass window in the apse and the preserved pulpit.
An exciting special exhibition
But that's not all! The combined tour also includes a visit to the special exhibition “Love or Burden – Monument Construction Site”. This show is presented by the German Foundation for Monument Protection and addresses the challenges and importance of monument preservation. A topic that couldn't be more current. Schlosskirche-Neustrelitz.de also offers that the church is open to visitors every day from May to October from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The combination of history and culture attracts not only the curious but also those who appreciate the architectural heritage of our region. For everyone who cannot take part on July 31st, there are further dates for the combined tour: On August 12th at 6 p.m. and on August 28th, September 9th and September 18th at 4 p.m., those interested can explore the fascinating world of the castle church again.
The Neustrelitz Cultural Quarter is looking forward to welcoming many visitors. These events provide a great opportunity to learn more about our cultural treasures. So don't hesitate to get your tickets, because both - the church and the exhibition - have a lot to offer!
