Creative dance double premiere: focus on emotions and clichés!
In a evening full of creativity and can open the gates to new artistic dimensions on June 14, 2025. Not only were own choreographies of five talented ensemble members, but also impressive insights into their soul world and cultural characteristics. The Nordkurier reported on the diverse performance, which was a real experience for the audience.
The start of the choreography "It is not everything Samba", a work by the choreographer Vinícius da Silva, which was filled with life by Sara Branco and Franziska Schüller. Immediately afterwards, Linn Rümpler appeared with her solo "alone", while her sister Melissa accompanied her on the piano. She researched her own body in the room in moving scenes. Noé Plasencia also contributed to the diversity of the evening: his choreography "Engel", danced by Franziska Schüller and Emma Lucia Barattini, highlighted the complexity of human relationships.
diverse choreographies
Another highlight was Daisuke Sogawa's contribution with three choreographies. "Day of Tears" for lacrimosa from Mozart's Requiem had the emotions on stage explode and was performed by several dancers. Emma Lucia Barattini shone in "Human" with a solo that addressed aesthetic self-research research. In "Completed (Not)", inspired by Axolotls, Johanna Sogawa and Franziska Schüller danced and did not shy away from penetrating the abstract.
An absolute highlight was also Sara Branco's choreography "Encontros", which illuminates different aspects of being human. This diversity was rounded off by Jutta Ebnother's performance "Camille", which dealt with the eventful life of the sculptor Camille Claudel (1864-1943). The focus on Claudel's fate is carefully presented by Ebnother in fragments that combine into a coherent overall picture. The choreography is brought to life with dancers Nicola Clarissa Gehring and Johanna Sogawa, and the performance location, the historic Domjüch nerve hospital, contributes to the special atmosphere of the work.
A look into the future
Managing Director Marco Zabel was optimistic about the future of the German dance company: "We have reached an agreement with the state government that enables us to continue to realize our artistic visions." On June 28th, July 20th and August 10th, the audience will be given the next opportunity to experience "Camille" in the former Domjüch state parent company. There is another treat on August 6th when extracts from the "cycle of the elements" are presented on the open -air stage at the palace garden.
The German dance company not only shows excellent dance performances, it also sets important cultural accents and thus offers a valuable contribution to cultural life in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. This mixture of contemporary dance and profound topics not only inspires the audience, but also contributes to the cultural identity of the region.
