Fritzart Festival in Stavenhagen: Where did the graffiti works of art have gone?
Reuterstadt Stavenhagen, Deutschland - The Reuterstadt Stavenhagen, known for their creative impulses, recently opened an exciting chapter in their art history. At Pentecost, the Fritzart 2025 took place, an international festival for facade art that attracted numerous artists and art lovers. More than 2,000 square meters of around 76 talented graffiti artists were designed, including many internationally known names from Europe and the USA.
The festival lasted from June 6th to 9th and offered a varied cultural supporting program with artisan market, lectures, readings and a variety of workshops. A highlight was certainly also the musical evening program, which invited DJ sets and live concerts to celebrate. There was also a wide range of childcare and culinary delights for the little visitors, which underlined the family festival character of the event.
artistic creativity at 1000 meters
The impressive works of art were created on a 1000 -meter -long spray area in the palace garden. Although some sprayed plates have already been sold or given away, others are stored in Neubrandenburg. It becomes particularly exciting, since Tony Schumalla, a central player of the festival, plans to exhibit the remaining graffiti pictures in shop windows in empty shops and in the shopping center "Reutereiche". The aim is to continue to make the works of art visible and to promote public interest in creative projects.
The city administration not only sees an asset to the cityscape in the impressive murals, but also an opportunity to promote tourism. City tours through the open-air gallery are to be offered, whereby metal signs with QR codes will provide passers-by additional information on the works of art and artists. Mayor Stefan Guzu even thinks of integrating the open-air gallery virtually into the city tour of the Reuter Museum.
positive response and challenges
Despite the initial skepticism, the city representatives are overwhelmed by the positive response to the festival. Detlef Hein (UFS) and Klaus Rißer (CDU) report a broad approval from the community. However, not everything remains uncritically: a point that was discussed with residents is the lack of statement of street names in the flyers to the works of art, which makes it difficult to find the finding, especially for local persons. The Fritzart Festival has left a clear impression and aroused a feeling of community and creativity. With these graffiti works of art, Stavenhagen now has a new, colorful eye-catcher that attracts both locals and tourists and further strengthens the city as a cultural location. This initiative could have long -term effects on the perception of the city and offer a shop window for future artistic projects.
