Stavenhagen is fighting for relegation: Coach judge warns of worries!

coach Torsten Richter spent the summer break in handball differently than usual: Instead of relaxing himself, he supported his children in their games and thus enjoyed the time in the fresh air. But the thoughts of the coming season in the regional league, which begins in September, are not long in coming. Preparations for the new season with the small club Stavenhagen are already in full swing.

In the next six weeks, intensive training sessions will be on the program, followed by a two -week break and a second training phase. "The athletics is crucial for us," emphasizes Richter. The association has a clear disadvantage compared to other teams in the league: due to their studies or work, many of its players are no longer in Stavenhagen. This situation led to valuable loss of points last season that judges do not want to repeat this.

Personnel worries and injuries

At the moment, the squad planning looks a bit cloudy. Pauline Schuck fails after a meniscus surgery, while Jannika Nowatzki has to recover from a cruciate ligament tear. Laura Pohl also has family obligations that make participation difficult. Tia Döbler and Christin Jonassen have shoulder problems, and there is even greater pressure on the goalkeeper position: Amelie Richter moves to Norway for one year, and Annemarie Brandt will be missing for the first three months. So the coaches have no choice but to pull Frieda Fink from the B-youth.

In view of this personnel, it is clear to judge: "We need good luck to stay in the league." An important point is also the motivation of the players. Richter found that many no longer want to play the performance -oriented handball. One more reason, with caring for the squad planning, and also keeping financial limits in mind that make an obligation to commit foreign players impossible for Stavenhagen.

safety precautions in training

But not only the training itself has to be planned well, safety -relevant aspects also take great importance. Handball is known for its physical effort and the high risk of injury, especially for knees and ankles. It is therefore essential to take injury prevention seriously. For this purpose, exercises to strengthen the joints and the learning of correct movement and case techniques must be integrated into the training units. Recommended measures are dynamic stretches and special warm-up programs to minimize injuries during the training and game load. The coaches and players and players have the task of checking the hall for their safety before use in order to create a good basis for the game.

Richter can rely on the basics of injury prevention and knows about the importance of suitable equipment. Hall sports shoes should be handle and support the movement in the game. The wearing of mouth protection and elbow cushions is also recommended to avoid injuries. In injuries to the head are particularly affected in handball, which is why quick action is important when suspected of concealing the brain.

With the upcoming challenges, judge is emotionally affected, but at the same time sees the positive support of the fans. Around 50 supporters also travel to away games and contribute to the mood. The coach and his team give additional motivation that you can rely on the community even in difficult times. And even if the coming games are not easy, Richter is sure that Stavenhagen will not give up.

"The new season will be a completely different challenge," he says. "The league has become stronger and we have to do our best. But I'm optimistic!"
