Firefighting vehicle damaged in the event of a turning accident on B192 in Malchow!

B192 bei Malchow, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Deutschland - yesterday, on June 12, 2025, there was a serious traffic accident at 4:15 p.m. on the B192 near Malchow. A team transport car (MTW) of the Neustadt-Glewe volunteer fire brigade was affected, which collided with an oncoming VW Tiguan while turning to Autobahn 19. This is a turning error of the driver of the MTW, who finally sat at the wheel at the age of 28. The driver of the VW Tiguan was 58 years old, both are German citizens. Fortunately, there were no injuries in the accident.

The accident occurred at the Malchow junction when the MTW wanted to turn onto the motorway and the VW Tiguan caught the right side of the fire engine. The property damage is estimated at around 80,000 euros, and after the accident, both vehicles were no longer ready to drive. In order to clear the scene of the accident, the B192 road had to be blocked for around two hours. In the end, the passengers of the MTW, including a passenger, remained intact.

A look at the number of accidents

traffic accidents are common companions of our everyday life. Statistics show that around 2.5 million road traffic accidents were registered in Germany in 2023. A large part of these accidents concern property damage, while the number of accidents with personal injury remains at a constant level that we can observe in recent decades. Despite all the progress on the streets, the EU Minister of Transport, with the aim of “Vision Zero”, aims not to record any racing deads by 2050.

An interesting point is that in 1970 Germany still had 19,193 traffic fatalities. This was reduced to 2,839 by 2023. Nevertheless, the downward trend of the road dead has been slowed down since the early 2010s. Factors such as insufficient distance, non -adapted speed or driving under the influence of alcohol are common causes of serious traffic accidents that often also affect everyday life of road users, regardless of whether in city traffic or on the country roads.

attentive drivers are the key

The incidents on the B192 are a strong example of how crucial attention and consideration in road traffic are. Especially on busy routes, every driver must pay particular attention to their surroundings. According to Statista's statistics, it is found that there is also a growing number of accidents with e-bikes and e-scooters in Germany. This indicates that the accident is constantly changing and bringing new challenges.

In the end, it can be hoped that all road users learn from such incidents and act even more carefully in road traffic. This is the only way to avoid accidents and increase security on the streets.
