Grimmen rocks: Mega weekend with tractor pulling, concerts and more!

What can visitors expect in Grimmen next weekend? A whole program full of thrills and musical entertainment is on the agenda! On June 28 and 29, 2025, the city will host several exciting events designed to attract both locals and guests. The focus is on the spectacular events in the Grimmen Cauldron, where tractor pulling and stock car racing take place.

The stock car races kick off on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m., while the tractors cross the line on Saturday evening from 6 p.m. A total of 42 tractors from the European tractor pulling scene are expected and the venue will become a showcase for motorsport fans. Robert Baase, who is primarily responsible for the organization, is optimistic that the event will be a great success. “We are looking forward to numerous visitors,” said Baase. To access the event, the southern side road will become a one-way street, and parking spaces will be limited on the festival site and in the commercial area.

A look at tractor pulling

Tractor pulling has its origins in the USA in the 1940s, where the aim was to determine the most powerful tractor. With the help of a wagon loaded with weights, the brake wagon, the tractors try to pull as far as possible. This sport came to Europe in the 1970s and quickly found a home in Germany. The first event took place in Grimmen in 1992 and since then the city has developed into an important location. The person responsible for the 1st Grimmen Stock Car Legion, Reinhard Baase, emphasizes that this year the event will also be supported by the DTTO (Deutsche Trecker Treck Organization e. V.).

Spectators can look forward to a roaring spectacle that not only provides adrenaline, but also a great evening with the after-race party on Saturday. Exciting competitions are also planned in various classes, including the junior class of the 3.5 t Limited class.

MUSIC, CELEBRATIONS AND MEETINGS IN THE REGION

But it's not just motorsport fans who get their money's worth. In addition to the exciting racing days, other events invite you to linger and celebrate. The district's music school is celebrating its open day on Saturday, June 28th, from 3 p.m. on Stralsunder Straße. There is the opportunity to try out different instruments, and the JB formation will perform at 5 p.m. Anyone who loves Eastern rock can enjoy the band Lifetime from 6 p.m.

There will also be a village festival in Wittenhagen on Saturday from 12 p.m. Here you can get excited about the volleyball tournament, fortify yourself with coffee, cake and grilled food and enjoy the musical performances.

Anyone who loves blues should come to the SOS Children's Village Vorpommern in Hohenwieden on June 27th at 7:30 p.m. The blues duo Georg Schroeter and Marc Breitfelder, additionally supported by Kalle Reuter, promise an atmospheric evening.

And of course motorcycle fans don't miss out either: the biker meeting will take place from June 27th to 29th at the “Gösselstuv” in Neuendorf. Biker games and rides are sure to provide many unforgettable moments. On the other hand, if you prefer a more contemplative experience, you can come to the Kirch Baggendorfer Church on the same day for summer music, where choirs and brass competitions are held.

All of these activities show that the coming weekend in Grimmen has a lot to offer. The variety of events ensures that every visitor gets their money's worth, whether it's a motorsport duel or a relaxed enjoyment of music. Definitely worth a visit!
