Jördenstorf celebrates 100 years of volunteer fire brigade with a big festival!

In Jördenstorf there is reason to be happy! On June 14, 2025, the volunteer fire brigade celebrates its impressive hundred years. This event is celebrated with a great parade through the village, which starts in the morning and is accompanied by a rousing playman train from Ticino. The residents and guests can not only look forward to the parade, but also to exciting demonstrations by the fire brigade as well as the village association and the day care center. In a festive framework, the community will come together to honor the decades of commitment to the firefighters.

But that's not all! The fire brigade day between Gnewitz and Stubbendorf also takes place on the same day. Here the audience can attend the extinguishing attacks and experience up close how the youth fire brigade demonstrates their skills in a three -way battle. There are fire brigades from Dettmannsdorf in the Vorpommern-Rügen district and even from Dresden. The large -scale exercises of the youth fire brigades from various Rostock districts stand out, which will inspire the spectators with spectacular actions. For example, a fire in the old fire station 3 is re -enacted with a fog machine, and extras take on the role of injuries that have to be saved and cared for.

A look at Haldensleben

While Jördenstorf is celebrating, Haldensleben also had his own ceremony. The fire brigade there recently celebrated its 140th birthday with a ceremony. Mayor Bernhard Hieber (SPD) praised the brave volunteer firefighters for their tireless efforts. The Haldensleber fire brigade can look back on a proud 82 active comrades and has an additional 122 members in the fire brigade support association and numerous committed children in the youth and children's fire brigade.

An impressive parade through the city center was also part of the celebrations. Historical fire engineering, such as the oldest hand pressure syringe, was presented, and the members of the youth fire brigade impressed with historical fire brigade robes as well as old hand pressure syringes and bicycles. The move was led by the Sülldorfer Schalmeienkapelle. For everyone who wanted to learn more after the move, an open day took place in the tool shed on Gerikestrasse, where there were delicious dishes and diverse actions for children and adults.

community and commitment in the focus

Both events, whether in Jördenstorf or Haldensleben, impressively show how important the commitment of the voluntary fire departments is for the respective communities. This is also emphasized by Andreas Sulfrian, deputy state fire chief Saxony-Anhalt, who emphasizes the importance of inspiring the youth for volunteering. In times when volunteering often takes a back seat, such celebrations are a valuable incentive to win young people for the fire service.

We are pleased to be able to report on the celebrations in Jördenstorf and Haldensleben. At a time when community and cohesion are very popular, such festivals are more than just a reason to celebrate - they remind us of how important it is to work for others and continue to maintain fire protection in the future.
