Conquer the German sports badge: sports festival in Anklam awaits you!

Anklam, Deutschland - The anticipation for a sporting challenge is increasing in Anklam: On Wednesday, July 13, 2025, the German sports badge will be awarded at the Werner Seelen Stadium from 8.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The organizers are the district sports association Vorpommern-Greifswald, the Vorpommersche football club and the city of Anklam. Mayor Michael Galander will open the event and encourage the participants to demonstrate their physical skills.

The German sports badge is the highest award for above -average performance outside of competition sports and is awarded by the German Olympic Sports Association. The requirements are based on the four basic motor skills: endurance, strength, speed and coordination. In order to receive the award, exercises must be successfully completed in every discipling group. These include, for example, running, swimming and cycling.

A special feature of the sports badge is that participation is possible for everyone - regardless of whether you are a member of a sports club or not. The detection of swimming ability is essential to obtain the badge. The sports badge is awarded in three stages: bronze, silver and gold. This award can be sought by children and adolescents aged six and over by adults aged 18 and over. People with disabilities are also cordially invited to take part.

In order to meet the requirements, all participants must provide the necessary services during a calendar year (from January 1st to December 31st). Curgrimitation is possible every year, and over half of the participants actually get the desired sports badge. The German sports badge is a badge of honor of the Federal Republic of Germany and is much more important than just sporting recognition: it stands for commitment, fitness and promotion of health.
