Löcknitz fire department strengthens fleet with modern tank fire engine!
The Löcknitz fire department recently celebrated an important milestone in its history: the handover of a new tank fire engine, the TLF 3000. This modern vehicle will replace the approximately 30-year-old TLF 16/25, which is now for sale. Mayor Detlef Ebert (CDU) had the honor of presenting the key in the presence of numerous guests. Among them were representatives from authorities, friendly fire departments as well as the Vorpommern-Greifswald district fire brigade association and the municipal council, which underlined the importance of the event. The new TLF 3000 has a hefty price tag of 350,000 euros, with 111,000 euros being provided by both the state and the district to make the purchase possible.
The TLF 3000, which is characterized by a 3,500 liter water tank, a permanently installed light mast, a 10,000 liter folding container for extinguishing water and a roof monitor, is a real asset for the Löcknitz weir. Enrico Harms, the community fire brigade leader, sees the fire department's fleet on the right track, as it has not only replaced the vehicle that was removed, but has also been completely modernized in recent years. The new purchases include, among other things, a turntable ladder, an emergency response vehicle (HLF), a 4000 tank fire engine, a command vehicle and a personnel transport vehicle.
The fleet is changing
According to Harms, no further purchases are planned in the next two years, but the planning horizon for new vehicles is still needed. The entire process of putting the TLF 3000 into operation took around five years. Interestingly, the Vorpommern-Greifswald district has recently made great progress in the area of firefighting technology, which is leading to increasing demand for modern vehicles. The European fire truck market is reported to grow to around USD 38.5 billion by 2029, corresponding to an annual growth of around 2.36%, a positive sign for the fire service in Germany, as mordorintelligence.com reports.
With currently 39 active comrades, the Löcknitzer Wehr is well positioned; the number of members remains stable. An additional 20 children are active in the youth fire department, which is an important step in promoting young firefighters. There are five girls who see the fire service as an attractive option.
A modern home
A further boost for the Löcknitz fire department resulted from the inauguration of a modern equipment house in 2018, which provides the emergency services with optimal working conditions. The reference to high-quality fire service technology and the promotion of young talent will have a positive impact on the fire department's operations in the coming years. It will be interesting to see how developments in firefighting technology will continue to impact the safety and emergency services of our community.
By constantly keeping its fleet up to date, the Löcknitz fire department not only shows a good hand when it comes to equipment, but also a great commitment to the safety of the community.
