Children compose music with toys - a joke full of sound!
In Ueckermünde, music and creativity brought happy faces. Students from class 5d at the Ehm Welk Regional School took part in a project week together with members and scholarship holders of the Berlin Academy of Arts embarked on the adventure of composing their own little pieces of music without electronic aids. In five days, a very special musical cabaret show was created under the direction of pianist Nikolai Rosenberg and composer Benjamin Scheuer, which was finally presented in the town hall's community hall.
It's hard to believe that 80 fifth graders made such a loud noise at the start of the event! But when the show started, calm quickly returned and the children captivated the audience with their funny sounds. A video without sound served as creative inspiration for creating sound, with the children using a variety of toys. These ranged from a music box to a farting pig and a ball.
Creativity and humor at the center
The presentation was a complete success and drew applause and hearty laughter from the audience. Benjamin Scheuer emphasized the humorous aspect of the music during the show, while Nikolai Rosenberg performed musical miniatures on the piano, supported by groups of enthusiastic children. Headmistress Jenny Stage was proud and satisfied with the result of the performance and highlighted the creative collaboration.
This type of musical support is not only entertaining, but also has a lasting effect on the children's cognitive abilities. All of this is in line with projects taking place at the Berlin University of the Arts are carried out where children actively participate in plays and combine music, language, movement and dance. These projects not only promote creativity, but also strengthen cohesion in classroom communities.
In addition to the local initiatives, such as this project week in Ueckermünde, there are current music festivals in Berlin that feature a variety of artists and exciting performances. The next festival will take place from June 26th to 29th, where renowned artists such as Burkhard Beins and the GrauSchumacher Piano Duo will perform. The ticket prices are fair, so that anyone interested has the chance to become part of this lively cultural landscape.
The enthusiasm for music and art is not only noticeable in Ueckermünde, but also extends throughout Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Berlin. These inspiring projects show that with a little creativity and teamwork, great things can be achieved.
