Women's power in Mecklenburg: 2nd women's festival inspires leadership!

A warm welcome for everyone who wants to be at the top! On July 3, 2025, the second Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Women's Festival will take place in Ludwigslust, which will attract around 100 women for personal and professional development with the exciting theme “Leadership rethought - future impulses”. The event is divided into workshops, lectures and advice tools from experts who support participants in shaping and improving their own leadership skills.

A special highlight of the festival is the opportunity to hear the experiences of female company founders, who are often faced with numerous challenges along the way. Since the first event, not much has changed in terms of numbers in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: 34 percent of managers in the state are still women and in the private sector this figure is 33 percent. This means that Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania does well in a country comparison; Only in Saxony is there a higher female presence in management positions at 35 percent, as NDR reports.

Diverse formats for diverse challenges

The festival is organized by fim e.V. in collaboration with the state-wide cross-mentoring program Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the Southwest Mecklenburg Economic Development Agency. The focus is on the challenges of the changing world of work, which are particularly crucial for women in leadership. What characterizes a successful leader? How do you create an optimal work-life balance in a challenging environment? These and many other questions are addressed in different formats.

The speakers include women from different regions of Germany who present their perspectives and tips from the nationwide economy. From practical exchange formats to panel discussions, the range is colorful and is intended to help participants rethink their own leadership approach and actively shape their role in companies. According to weiterbildung-mv.de, anyone interested has the opportunity to register and be part of this inspiring event.

The importance of female leadership

But why are such events important? Initial results from analyzes of workplace culture show that the proportion of female managers correlates directly with the successful corporate culture. According to Great Place to Work, women in leadership positions often feel less supported, which is partly due to a lack of female role models and mentors. This discrepancy calls for targeted measures to create equal opportunities and an inclusive working environment in which women can develop their skills.

In such a reform-friendly area like Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, where women in leadership positions represent a challenge for economic and social coexistence, festivals like this can help overcome existing clichés. Women report on their journeys, challenges and successes, which inspires young talents and those interested to also take on responsibility in leadership roles.

The festival in Ludwigslust is not only a platform for exchange and learning, but also a necessary step in the right direction for an equal future in the working world in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
