DRK Wasserwacht Parchim courses

But it's not just the ASB that has something to offer. The DRK Wasserwacht Parchim is also starting the summer holidays with its swimming courses. The offers take place in Parchim and Dreenkrögen, among others, each on different dates. Here are the most important data:

  • Parchim: 28. Juli bis 1. August und 25. bis 29. August, jeweils 9-12 Uhr; Aufbaukurse vom 25. bis 29. August.

DLRG swimming courses

The DLRG Schwerin is also active and offers beginner swimming courses in Bad Kleinen, which take place daily from August 18th to 22nd. One point that is particularly important: Children should meet certain requirements for the course. From the age of 5, little ones can start learning to swim. It is important that they are not afraid of water, can dive and develop trust in new caregivers. If you have health restrictions, a medical certificate is required that confirms participation in the course, as the Schwerin water rescue service emphasizes.

For those who want to further develop their skills, the various institutions also offer swimming badges that demonstrate swimming skills and knowledge. This includes the German swimming badge in bronze, silver and gold. In particular, the early swimmer badge, also known as the “seahorse”, is not synonymous with safe swimming and should always be done under supervision. An important detail that parents should keep in mind. The DLRG offers more information about this on its website DLRG.

Conclusion: Anyone who wants to take the plunge into the cool water this summer has the best opportunity to do so in Schwerin and the surrounding area. Registration for the respective courses takes place either on site or by telephone. So it remains exciting to see whether beginner swimmers can enrich their summer holidays with new swimming skills!
