Hansa Rostock celebrates a strong away win against Cologne – 4:2 triumph!
On October 26, 2025, the stadium in Cologne experienced an exciting football afternoon when Hansa Rostock celebrated its first away win of the season against Viktoria Köln. The Rostock team was dominant throughout the entire game and gave Cologne little room to develop their game. Thanks to an excellent performance from Fatkic and Naderi, who each scored two goals, Rostock secured three important points in the 3rd league.
The game started quickly and Naderi had the first chance for Rostock in the 4th minute, but the Cologne keeper Dudu made a strong save. Rostock quickly asserted themselves and after a corner in the 9th minute it was Kloss who aimed the header just wide. It took Cologne a while to defuse the pressure from Rostock, but it was Naderi who opened the scoring in the 20th minute and gave his team a 1-0 lead.
Dominant Rostock colors
The guests from Rostock didn't take long to make it 2-0 through Naderi in the 24th minute. After a precise free kick from Harenbrock, Naderi executed a wonderful volley. However, Cologne's response didn't take long to arrive: Lobinger scored a penalty in the 36th minute after being brought down in the penalty area. So it went into the half-time break with a score of 2-1.
The next excitement occurred right at the start of the second half: Fatkic made it 3-1 in the 50th minute, again from a penalty. Just five minutes later, in the 55th minute, he took advantage of a mistake by the Cologne defense and made the score 4-1. The game was almost decided for Cologne, who had a few chances in the remaining minutes, but Rostock defended cleverly and was able to defuse the dangerous situations. The keeper Uphoff parried a header from Kozuki in the 75th minute.
An exciting finish
In the final minutes, Cologne pushed for renewed contact, which Lobinger also managed with his new penalty in stoppage time to make it 2:4, but time gave Rostock a deserved away win. At the end of the game, the two teams were tied on points in 12th place in the table, while FC Viktoria Köln remains in 11th place for the time being, with another home game against FC Ingolstadt next Friday, which is also eagerly awaited.
In summary, it can be said that with this victory Rostock not only polished up the important points, but also gained self-confidence for the next games. The Cologne team, on the other hand, has to fight their way back to success and use their opportunities more effectively.
