Michaela Steffens, 58 years old and living in Waren (Müritz), is excited about a special encounter she recently had at the Volksbad in her hometown. On September 28th, between 2 and 3 p.m., she met a charming man who was riding his bicycle towards the city. “He turned around several times, smiled and winked at me,” says Michaela full of anticipation. There's something going on, she thinks, and hopes that the stranger will remember her.

“I was wearing black boots and sunglasses,” she describes herself. At her side was a friend with blonde hair. Michaela can't stop smiling when she thinks back to the short but intense encounter. The public bath in Waren

The Volksbad, where the magical encounter took place, is more than just a seaside resort; It is one of the oldest outdoor swimming pools in Waren and attracts around 70,000 visitors every year. With a 200 meter long sandy beach and a large 3 hectare lawn, it offers space for relaxation and leisure activities. It is also certified with the “Blue Flag”, which stands for good water quality, order and safety. A barrier-free entrance and numerous facilities, such as a fitness course and beach volleyball courts, make the public pool particularly attractive for everyone.

The children's playground is a popular place for families and the large water slide, which is an impressive 63 meters long, provides additional fun. The DLRG ensures security in the high season, from May 15th to September 10th, daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Barrier-free toilet facilities as well as showers and changing rooms are also available to visitors.

The Mecklenburg Lake District, in which the Volksbad is located, is not only a popular seaside resort, but also an Eldorado for cyclists. Germany has more than 70,000 kilometers of cycle paths, and the region offers particularly beautiful tours with a combination of nature and historical sights. For cyclists, there are over 200 long-distance cycle paths that are suitable for different requirements and fitness levels - regardless of whether you want to go on ambitious tours or just enjoy the surroundings.

In total, there are around 100 kilometers of cycle paths available in the Mecklenburg Lake District, which lead cyclists through the picturesque landscape. Of course, including the beautiful routes, there are also chic cyclist accommodations - from cozy farms to elegant castle hotels.
