Boizenburg is running: 15,000 euros for actions – strong together!

A weekend full of enthusiasm and solidarity: The fourth charity run under the motto “Boizenburg runs” took place in Boizenburg last weekend. This traditional event has now firmly established itself in the city's event calendar and is attracting more and more runners and supporters.

The initiators can look forward to a considerable sum of around 15,000 euros, which was collected this year. Although this sum falls short of the almost 20,000 euros from the previous year, it is still an impressive contribution to improving life in Boizenburg. In total, over 40,000 euros have been raised for various projects since the event premiered in 2022. As mayor Rico Reichelt emphasizes, the sum of 42,500 euros in three years is an “amazing achievement” and reflects the tireless commitment of the city and its citizens. Nordkurier reports that the funds flowed into, among other things, a new slide tower at the playground on Ehm-Welk-Straße and an exercise park on Weidenschneck.

Volunteering in Boizenburg

Voluntary work is an essential part of social life in Boizenburg/Elbe. The city not only offers various opportunities to support volunteer work, but also recognizes the commitment of its citizens. These initiatives extend across many areas, including the volunteer fire department, clubs and local political committees. Like on the City website can be read, volunteers make a significant contribution to social interaction and the common good.

The city aims to strengthen the framework conditions for volunteers. This includes, among other things, support in finding new people for local associations as well as information about financial support opportunities. The commitment to the common good is a reminder that many people work for free in their free time to help others or to realize projects. Such commitment is particularly important for the social structure: whether in supporting young people, helping seniors or nature conservation - the possibilities are diverse and rewarding.

Making a difference together – the essence of “Boizenburg runs”

The organization of the charity run is based on solidarity and commitment: a crew of seven permanent members and numerous volunteers contribute to the implementation of the event. This shows how much the citizens of Boizenburg stick together to make a difference together. In addition, regional craft businesses not only support the initiative financially, but also actively contribute their help and materials.

The idea of making the city even more attractive lives on. Future projects include, among other things, increasing the attractiveness of the city park, where exercise equipment and small obstacle courses will encourage people to exercise. Trust and transparency in how the funds collected are used are at the forefront of the initiative. So far there have been no questions about the intended use of the donations. This shows that citizens believe in the good intentions and that every donation makes a difference.

Engaged citizens are the backbone of every community. Like on the side of German volunteer work can be read, an inner need to help people motivates many to this important commitment. Whether for religious reasons or a personal wish, every volunteer contributes to the betterment of the community through their work. The “Boizenburg Running” charity run is a shining example of how community spirit and voluntary work can go hand in hand.
