First health fair on Rügen: Answers to care and dementia questions!

There is great anticipation for the first health fair for health and social affairs, which will take place on November 6th and 7th in the foyer of the Bergen Kaufland market. Organized by the creative minds Eva Wunsch, Franziska Waak and Alexander Eschrich, the fair is aimed at everyone who wants to find out more about health, care and social support. The opening times are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Baltic Sea newspaper reports that this initiative not only provides information, but also aims to highlight the often unused needs of those in need of care.

“There is a great lack of information for those affected,” emphasizes Eva Wunsch from the Bergener Ambulante Wunschpflege. Many people with nursing care do not know what rights they have. Over 80 upgrade applications have been processed in the last nine months - a clear indication of the importance of education in this area.

Diversity of exhibitors and lectures

Almost 20 companies will take part in the trade fair, including renowned organizations such as the German Red Cross, Vita-Apotheke and the Dementia Network Vorpommern-Rügen. The choice of the Kaufland market in Bergen as the venue was strategic: stand fees were waived to make it easier for local vendors to present their offerings. This also creates enough space for Kaufland customers who visit the trade fair.

Another highlight are the specialist lectures, which will take place every hour on both days from 12 p.m. Topics such as blistering, living wills and health care power of attorney are on the agenda. This informative design promises that visitors can not only browse the stands, but also actively participate in discourses.

Insights into the world of dementia

Particular attention is paid to the needs of dementia patients through a dementia simulator, which clearly illustrates the symptoms of the disease. This should help to significantly increase understanding of the challenges those affected face.

The trade fair offers an important platform to bring the topics of care and social support into the spotlight. Read more about this important event on the website Baltic Sea newspaper.
