Large police presence in Anklam: training in a former shrimp hall!

There was a lot going on in Anklam on Monday. A large police presence arrived in front of the former Idena hall, which once served as the site of the Nordic Crown shrimp farm. The hall itself has been empty for over a year and has not found any official new use since then. Police training ensured that some police cars were stationed in front of the loading hall. This information was confirmed at the request of Kimberly Schätzen, police spokesperson, and reiterated that it was operational training.

It remains to be seen whether the training in the old hall was a one-off event or whether the police will regularly rehearse their operations there in the future. The Anklam Criminal Police Inspectorate, which reports to the Neubrandenburg Police Headquarters, has a wide-ranging and responsible area of responsibility. Under the leadership of Chief Criminal Officer Falko Haack, the inspection takes care of solving medium and serious crimes in an area of around 7,115 km², which is spread across the districts of Vorpommern-Rügen and Vorpommern-Greifswald. In total, around 461,350 citizens live here.

What is the criminal police doing?

The tasks of the criminal police inspection are diverse and range from murder and manslaughter to crimes against sexual self-determination to organized crime and cybercrime. A strong team ensures security in Anklam and beyond: In addition to the investigating officers, there are also employees in the areas of forensic science and observation who provide active support. The emergency services are also well positioned with regard to economic crime and state security.

The use of the Idena Hall could continue to be an issue if no further uses are found. But until then, the population can feel safe because the criminal police have a good knack for their work and always keep their finger on the pulse in order to solve potential crimes and ensure the safety of citizens. The large police presence sends a strong signal: Nothing is left to chance here.

The police will continue to plan their various actions to ensure a safe atmosphere in other places in the district. That's why it remains exciting to see what will happen in the former Idena hall in the future, whether more training or perhaps a new use for the old location in the Anklamer region.
