Autumn market in Ueckermünde: enjoyment, music and a magical lantern parade!

On Saturday, October 25, 2024, the old town of Ueckermünde was transformed into a lively festival for the senses. The autumn market, organized by IG Ueckermünde 2030, attracted numerous visitors and put everyone in a good mood with a colorful offering. Over 100 traders offered their wares while the city was filled with hustle and bustle. The event was supported by numerous helpers, restaurateurs and of course the audience.

A very special highlight was the stand of Burkhard Graf from Löcknitz, who presented his homemade liqueurs. He has been producing these for over ten years, although the development of a new type of liqueur can take a full twelve months. Such authentic products make the market so attractive. The palate was also pampered by the baking skills of the Zum Storchennest bakery and pastry shop from Altentreptow, which freshly prepared fragrant bread and rolls in the wood-fired oven on the market square. Here you can really say: Anyone who starts the day freshly baked has won!

Music and entertainment for young and old

The musical program created a festive atmosphere. Among other things, the Rossower Schalmeienkapelle thrilled visitors with their outdoor concert at 5:00 p.m. But that wasn't all! For the little guests there was a children's program at 3:00 p.m. with the “Liederkoffer”, which created a happy atmosphere with join-in songs. Music lovers could also look forward to the Ueckermünde Old Town Music Night, which took place in the evening with ticket access only.

And what's the best way to start such a festive evening? Of course with a lantern parade that led through the streets of the city at 5:30 p.m. under the motto “Longest lightworm in Ueckermünde”. This tradition ensures bright eyes and warm-hearted moments every year.

Comfort and organization

The organizers also thought about the practical side: there were numerous parking spaces available for the journey. Anyone who came by car could use the parking spaces at Lidl, Reno, Rossmann and Takko, while parking management was suspended that day. Some streets were closed for the lantern parade between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to ensure a safe process for the participants.

Facebook and Instagram were used to capture the happy impressions under the hashtag #Herbstmarktuede, and many visitors were excited to explore the offers from regional retailers and the harbor flea market.

The 2024 autumn market was not only a place for bargaining and tasting, but also a heart of society in Ueckermünde, where community and tradition meet modern entertainment. A weekend that will remain in the hearts of the people of Ueckermünde and their guests for a long time.
