Peenerobben take off in Lignano: MV Cup final in sight!
The swimming talents of PSV Anklamer Peenerobben recently completed an intensive training camp in Lignano, Italy. Coach Maurizio Massari has put together a well-thought-out program that includes two swimming sessions and one strength session every day. The talented athletes, who come from performance groups one to three, kept fit during their stay in an optimized environment and trained with full commitment.
What could be nicer than combining intensive training with a short cultural break? As a welcome change, a trip to Venice was on the agenda. This mix of hard training and recovery not only ensures good team dynamics, but also brings new inspiration for the upcoming competitions.
Preparation for the MV Cup
The Peenerobben's big goal is the MV Cup final, which will take place on November 15th in their own hall in Anklam. This event will not only be a welcome test of skills for the young athletes, but also an opportunity to demonstrate their skills in front of their home crowd.
As in many sports, the psychological component plays a crucial role in swimming. More and more athletes are having difficulty using the skills they learned in training in competitive situations. The high performance density and daily form have a strong influence on how well swimmers can implement their training performance in competition. Therefore, systematic sports psychological support during training is of great importance.
The German Swimming Association has developed a long-term care concept that was evaluated as part of a multicenter research design. 29 top athletes were followed and quantitative and qualitative data was collected in order to find starting points for optimizing performance. Findings from this research could also benefit Peener seals to further improve their preparation for competition.
Overall, the Peener seals in Lignano not only sharpened their physical skills, but also laid the foundation for a successful competition season. Who knows, maybe you'll soon see the talents shine on the big competition stage!
