Malchiner Teichberg: Million dollar project for new rental apartments started!
After numerous discussions about the future of the property on Malchiner Teichberg over two decades, the much criticized area is now finally taking shape. How Northern Courier reports, the site is now surrounded by construction fences and the first construction containers are ready. This is happening under the leadership of Ralf Arendt, Managing Director of Quartier Immo Invest GmbH, who is driving this important project forward.
Commercial space was originally planned for the property, but now a three-story apartment building with a total of 32 rental apartments is to be built here. The price per square meter of these apartments is just under seven euros, which could appeal to many potential tenants. The total costs for the construction project amount to around eight million euros, with a pleasing 5.5 million euros being covered by funding. Completion is planned within 15 months, so the first residents could move in at the beginning of 2027.
A new perspective for Malchin
In recent years, the old plans have been overshadowed by uncertainties about the material properties of the former GDR department store. But thanks to precise measurements and test drilling, these concerns have now been largely clarified. Ralf Arendt also has the ambitious intention of renting out the apartments himself and remaining the long-term owner of the project, which speaks for stability and long-term planning.
The location on Teichberg is not the only construction project in Malchin. Mayor Axel Müller (CDU) has already pointed out further construction projects, including an interesting project on Kreuzstrasse/Wiesenstrasse. It seems as if Malchin is ready to transform into a thriving residential area that will be of interest to both locals and newcomers.
The efforts on Teichberg are a clear signal that things are moving forward in the city. After a long wait, residents and interested parties can finally hope for a positive development. Meanwhile, events on the financial market remain as they are Barchart shows, always exciting, although local investors and houses should keep a close eye on the market.
The commitment of Quartier Immo Invest GmbH and the city administration gives hope that Malchin's infrastructure will be sustainably enriched through such construction projects and that the city will move one step closer to a prosperous future.
