Kühlungsborn, Deutschland - What happens in the media landscape? From June 14, 2025, Romy Hiller will be the new face of the 8:00 p.m. "Tagesschau". In doing so, she steps into the footsteps of Constantin Schreiber, who has previously left the show. The 43-year-old Wismarer, who grew up in the picturesque Kühlungsborn, has made a name for herself in the German television landscape and now meets the high responsibility of one of the most renowned news formats.

Hiller lives with her two daughters in Hamburg. She reveals little about her private life, which is part of her strategy to concentrate on the essentials - reporting. The audience is eagerly awaiting their debut alongside their experienced colleagues.

a career with many stations

With an impressive career that started with a radio convolontalariat at Antenne MV in 2000, Hiller has refined her craft through numerous stations. After graduating from high school, she moved to the radio and later to the TV world when she started her training as a TV editor and moderator at RTL Nord in April 2005. During this time, she gained valuable experiences at "Stern TV" and in the RTL studio in New York and at "RTL Aktuell" in Cologne.

From 2008 to 2018, she worked as a correspondent for the RTL channels in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. The RTL regional magazine RTL Nord also moderated it during this period. In 2018 she moved to Norddeutsche Rundfunk (NDR), where she is now working in the business editorial office. Her first big meeting with the audience took place on October 25, 2021 when she presented the news program NDR Info, followed by several other moderations in recent years.

It will not only moderate the 8-o'clock edition of the "Tagesschau", but has already made a name for itself by presenting the night editions and 9 o'clock morning editions.
