In a groundbreaking restructuring, the AWO regional association in Demmin has found new leadership. Martin Jennerjahn and Rebecca Stegemann were appointed to the management board Northern Courier reported. Jennerjahn will remain managing director of the AWO association in Neubrandenburg and thus strengthen the connection between the two associations.

The previous incumbent, Klaus Schmidt, had to resign from his duties for health reasons. This opened up space for consideration of intensifying cooperation between the two associations. Rumors say that Schmidt will not leave the association completely; Instead, support and responsibilities should be reorganized. Some staff changes have already taken place: Christin Leiffheidt, a member of the executive board, has announced her resignation and expressed her concerns about insufficient information and pressure when making decisions in an open letter.

Changes in the Presidium

Leiffheidt isn't the only one giving up her position. The president of the AWO regional association, Ingeborg Kasch, also announced her resignation at the beginning of the year. The reason for this was a disturbed relationship of trust with Klaus Schmidt, which, according to Kasch, was caused by a lack of communication between him and the executive committee.

Martin Jennerjahn regrets the departures and accuses Leiffheidt of having spread false information about the inspection of documents. This has led to tension within the organization. Jennerjahn also emphasizes that there are no contractual agreements or economic relationships between AWO Demmin and Anima gGmbH. The cooperation with the Malchin train station is also on the brink, as Leiffheidt noted.

Looking into the future

Jennerjahn has set himself ambitious goals for the future: He announced that he would make the Demmin regional association more transparent, more digital and, above all, more future-proof. The AWO is therefore on a clear course to not only respond to the current challenges, but also to make the organization fit for the times to come.

Another aspect that should not go unmentioned is the AWO Safety Statistics Reporting Program. This enables the confidential collection of important data that is not only important for internal security, but also in terms of responsible public relations. This includes data points on work hours, injury statistics and more. AWO takes a holistic approach to introducing and continually improving safety management systems for all sponsoring companies.

The upcoming changes within the AWO Demmin regional association are not only necessary, but also show the will to adapt and further develop. While the new leadership focuses on what matters, it remains to be seen how the employees and community will respond to the new structures and increased collaboration.
