Rust'n'Dust vintage car race: Teterow rocks with historic vehicles!
The joy of old metal is once again a priority, as the Rust'n'Dust Jalopy roars on the Teterower Bergring. Next weekend, from June 13th to 15th, 2025, the picturesque landscape will be transformed into a stage for historic vehicles and passionate pilots. The organizer is already promising an event that will make the hearts of classic car lovers beat faster. Fred Godewols is there with two vehicles: a stylish Mercedes V170 DA from 1951 and an Awo motorcycle that was produced in the Simson factory in Suhl in the early 1950s.
Both vehicles take part in the exciting competitions. The test drives on the dirt track in the oval and the consistency driving on the mountain ring are particularly challenging. Godewols plans to present his racing machine to an audience on Saturday afternoon. He was supported in preparing his vehicles by Udo Scheel, a real insider and former mountain ring cup winner, which increases the anticipation of an exciting performance. Another highlight is Rainer Neugebauer, who is taking part in his fifth time with a Ford Model A pick-up from 1928. He and other participants are particularly looking forward to the musical entertainment from “Twist’n’Sharky” and “GrimZilla”, which will really heat up the visitors.
The event in detail
Rust’n’Dust is more than just a race – it’s an experience. The event goes beyond just the competitions and features a merchant mile with authentic vintage clothing and delicious American burgers. There will also be a hairdresser for fifties style, so that participants and visitors can not only experience exciting races, but also dress up. The nostalgic charm of American racing events from the 40s and 50s permeates the entire atmosphere.
It is important for the organizers to honor the history of automobile racing. As DMSB reports, historic racing is not just a competition, but also a homage to the pilots' dedication to their vehicles. All participating cars are carefully selected and come from significant time periods, making this event a unique experience for spectators.
A festival for car fans
The Rust’n’Dust Jalopy celebrates a sense of tradition and the joy of historic vehicles that come from various areas of automotive racing, including Grand Prix and touring cars.
